KRONE has received the Red Dot Award for the excellent design of its large square baler BiG Pack HDP II that perfectly combines practical functionality and brand identity.
Spelle, Germany, April 2026: KRONE receives international design award for the first time in the company’s history: The large square baler BiG Pack HDP II 1290 (VC) has received the Red Dot Award in the product design category. The award reflects the assessment of an independent panel of experts, who recognised both the external appearance of the machine and the quality of its overall design.

On 20th March 2026, an international team of experts evaluated the BiG Pack HDP II 1290 (VC) in detail. The Red Dot Award highlights the high level of quality and sophisticated design by KRONE in the professional large square baler sector. The design of the BiG Pack combines a powerful, clearly structured frame with visible technical functionality. The distinctive two‑tone side panels clearly highlight the machine’s key functional areas. The design gives the baler a strong and purposeful appearance, while smooth surfaces emphasise its robust and precise build. The overall design is concise and confident, clearly illustrating the functionality and brand identity.

The design focuses on practical, everyday use. Integrated all-round lighting provides an optimum overview even if visibility conditions are poor, while a maintenance platform and railings ensure safe and easy access to all the relevant components.
The patented drive with built‑in overload protection delivers high output while maintaining maximum bale density. The Active pick‑up ensures clean, low‑loss crop collection, and the VariCut cutting unit allows cutting lengths to be adjusted quickly and accurately.
When combined with the approved V-knotter system and Variable Filling System evenly shaped and highly compressed bales are generated regardless of the relevant operating conditions.
