AMAZONE has updated its ZG-TX combi spreader with new features designed to improve accuracy and make operation easier. These include an integrated weighing system and FlowControl automatic rate control for lime spreading. Designed for spreading both fertiliser and lime, the ZG-TX has become a popular choice for large farms, contractors and machinery hire businesses. The ZG-TX range of optional features along with its ability to accurately spread both lime and fertiliser makes it a highly versatile machine.

Precise weighing system for greater control in the field

A new integrated weighing system is now available for the ZG-TX which gives operators accurate hopper fill level information and makes it easier to set spread rates for both lime and fertiliser. The system uses two weigh cells mounted between the axle and frame, along with a sensor in the drawbar, to continuously measure the load. All information is displayed on the ISOBUS terminal.

When used with the optional work lights, the system can also help during filling. The lights flash to indicate the hopper fill level and show when the target weight has been reached, helping operators avoid overfilling and reducing the amount of waste left in the hopper.

The weighing system is fully integrated into the machine’s ISOBUS software, allowing operators to quickly calibrate application rates for both lime and fertiliser. After spreading a known amount of material, the system checks the hopper weight and automatically calculates the calibration factor. This removes the need to manually measure bulk density and helps ensure accurate application across a wider range of products.

FlowControl for lime

Another new feature is FlowControl automatic spread rate regulation for lime. Thanks to newly developed gearboxes, the system can now use torque measurement technology, which has already proven effective in fertiliser spreading applications.

Operators simply enter the target application rate, and FlowControl automatically monitors and adjusts material flow during operation. This helps maintain a consistent spread rate and improves accuracy, even when working with lime products that vary in quality or characteristics.

Availability for various ZG-TX models

The new weighing system and FlowControl technology are now available on all ISOBUS-equipped ZG-TX models, including the ZG-TX Super, with a maximum permissible weight of 21 tonnes, and the ZG-TX Special, which has a maximum permissible weight of 12.5 tonnes.

With these latest upgrades, the ZG-TX further strengthens its position as a versatile combi spreader for both fertiliser and lime applications. The new features help operators achieve greater accuracy, improve efficiency and maintain consistent application rates across a wide range of spreading materials and operating conditions.
